This is a very good documentary "Grizzly Man" by Werner Herzog. The entire film can be found, worth your time.

It disgusts me that so many people think of what that idiot did was noble. He was a selfish jerk who repeatedly ignored rules that were put in place by real bear experts. I do not believe that his activity in bear country was about the bears, it was all about him. The end result was that he died, which I see as no loss to the world, and the tragic death of his girlfriend who wanted out. And it forced the rangers to kill those bears who this guy claimed to have loved. Also often overlooked is the psychological trauma experienced by the people who had to go out and pick up the pieces.
