Do you think that some men need to chill out or is this a sign that some women need to step up their game???
What about the number of women "caught up" by adult entertainment as veiwers or as performers???

Don't you think that such things can go either way? Many men like cuddling and kissing. Many women like giving blow jobs and the pleasures of anal sex.

its equal to women loving their toys more than their mate. so when women hate guys for watching porn, guys also hate that women are happier with their toys than with them. its 50-50 no matter which side you hear from

The sex act in and of itself might be 50-50, but factor in feelings, emotions, and there are major differences.

please - it's an msn article - which I didn't read.... cuz tmz would probably have been more "professionally journalistic"
- Really, Just look at the slanted headline
--- those evil men hurting some poor victim woman's self esteem cuz her guy is looking at porn.... step up your game???
--- Hell if your guy's looking at porn hurts your self esteem - you ain't got no game
--- and you probably read romance novels, watch bitchy day time talking heads and read and believe msn articles on who to blame for your low self esteem ;-}}}

Well, where the Fabulous One and I share the same habits, who's really hurting who?
Clearly the slant this wants you to accept is that the stereotype that existed in the 60s still exists today, in spite of how liberated and independent women may have become. Bad bad men! Shame on us. What a crock of sh*t.
I agree that the article itself is rather slanted. If more couples were liberated and didn't have hang-ups, this article need never be written nor this debated.
Just my .28 chip.

Interesting article; as pointed out, it does rely on the old stereotype of several decades ago, its far more balanced now, women enjoy porn and its the men who feel they dont measure up, in terms of size and stamina. Of course to have a healthy relationship, both parties must be open about what it is that turns them on - and off.

These days kids are exposed to sex, violence on TV, and porn on the internet at a young age, I don't think it's a big deal anymore.
When I was young looking at a Playboy magazine was a big deal. I remember hearing "Fuck" in 1974 on HBO and couldn't believe what I heard. When I was in High School feeling a tit was a big deal. Today a large number of teenagers have STDs, so WTF do I know???

I think ppl in general have become detached from themselves, their sexuality, and each other? It's easier to delve into the abstract world of porn, toys, and masturbation than to actually spend the time and effort to deal with actual human to human interaction... I could be wrong???

Although men and women are both human, shouldn't they naturally have a difference of perspective regarding sex and sexual interaction? At the same token, are there really any true differences due to the socialization and conditioning of men and women and what they have been "taught" to think, feel, and act differently about these matters? Do you think that religion, politics, and even peer pressure play a part in these matters? Just observing such websites as Rude.com, show that some of the things in the article may not be altogether be true?

please - it's an msn article - which I didn't read.... cuz tmz would probably have been more "professionally journalistic"
QD: Whether it was MSN or TMZ makes little difference, because any article of this type is usually slanted. It's to be expected. The reaserach itself is even questionable, but it still makes for a good discussion. Which is the most important thing, as the "problems" seem to be more about a lack of communication between the genders than anything else? I could be wrong???
- Really, Just look at the slanted headline
--- those evil men hurting some poor victim woman's self esteem cuz her guy is looking at porn.... step up your game???
QD: Actually there is a thread of truth about this notion, as there are women who do feel intimidated or even insecure about adult entertainment and adult entertainers overall. Not everyone is an open-minded, well-adjusted, vibrant sexual being. A lot of ppl are quite uptight about pornography and the like... Some men are too involved in porn and fantasy sex to the point that they can have a warped sense of themselves, women, and sex. Some women feel that they cannot or even should not have to compete or live up to the look and behaviors of ppl who are propagated by the adult entertainment industry.
At the same token, these ppl might need to deal with the reality of ppl in adult entertainment, as being ppl themselves, who have real lives, real insecurities, real emotions, etc. not that far from themselves. Of course, this doesn't feed into the fantasy, which can be a real killjoy for someone who is only looking for self-gratification...
--- Hell if your guy's looking at porn hurts your self esteem - you ain't got no game
QD: I hope that you won't be working at any battered women's shelter anytime soon!?! LOL
--- and you probably read romance novels, watch bitchy day time talking heads and read and believe msn articles on who to blame for your low self esteem ;-}}}
QD: To an extent I do agree with you about the influences of popular media, but the esteem of women is greatly influenced by the overall culture which has not exactly been "pro-woman"... MSN is not the first to point this out. LOL

True, true... Have women become all that "liberated and independent"? Although I, a woman, posted the article, it's been men that have responded. I'm not against that and I'm thankful for all your responses, truly.
The abuses of women continues to flourish, not only here, but around the globe. Women's rights concerning sex, health, equity in pay, and other areas are still being fought. How a woman walks, talks, looks, and so on still takes precedent over how she feels, thinks, or even her education... Although women can say, "I am woman. Hear me roar!!!", if they say it too much or too loud, they will find themselves shut down. If she is "too pretty" or "too ugly" or "too fat" or "too smart", she can be ignored, devalued, or objectified. Oprah Winfrey, Hilary Clinton, Condeleeza Rice, or Margaret Thatcher are the exceptions, not the rule, when it comes to empowered women.
I think the article exsists because there are real problems with self-image, sexuality, and human interaction, even in a society as this. True, the article does take a stereo-typical slant, but this may be because men have more power and thus it is trying to appeal to the demographic that has the most influence in media and sex?
Even here on Rude, much of what you see is based on what men want to see. Men produce most of the material. Many of the women slant their material towards the desires and demands of a male audience or what a woman thinks or has been "programmed" to believe what a man wants. Many women do not produce material purely for their own edification. This is primarily economically based, but it also speaks to the issues of self-image, self-esteem, and power of women. Even when the material is produced by couples, it is still generally made from the male perspective and for what primarily other males find desirable.
A look at the difference between how heterosexual porn differs from gay/lesbian porn and how these genres deal with the issues of body image, sexual behaviors, and human interaction shows how the article is truly incomplete. I could be wrong?
