Forking over a Facebook password to an employer?

Talk about Big Brother. Employers now arent just limiting what their workers can and cant say about them on social media sites. Some are actually asking for their Facebook passwords.
According to a report by the Associated Press Monday, some employers are asking interviewees to cough up their passwords rather than simply glancing at the publicly available pictures on Facebook or comments on Twitter. The practice is apparently more prevalent among law enforcement agencies, which are looking for gang associations or inappropriate relationships with minors that could be problematic, though a few companies are reportedly doing so as well. Experts arent just questioning whether the practice is an invasion of privacy as one commenter to an ACLU post said, will the next step be to request a key to my house? but even the technical legality of it. States like Illinois and Maryland are considering legislation against it...

Fork over your Facebook log-on or you don't get hired. What?
Anecdotal evidence isn't proof of widespread behavior, but reports that some companies want job applicants to turn over Facebook passwords are going to spark a political grab-fest.

A Fast-Paced Stock Exchange Trips Over Itself
The stock market claimed an unlikely victim on Friday: one of its own.
Just as its shares started selling to the public for the first time, BATS Global Markets, one of the nations newest and largest electronic exchanges, halted trading on its own stock, after a series of technical glitches and errors in its system that also affected the shares of Apple [AAPL 596.05 -3.29 (-0.55%) and other companies.
A few hours after the embarrassing debacle, the financial company withdrew its initial public offering of stock. Investors who tried to buy the new shares will have their trades canceled, and owners who wanted to sell their stake will not be able to cash out for now.
While trading on the BATS exchange was back to normal in a few hours, the technical problems raise questions about the vulnerability of the broader market system, which has allowed new competitors like BATS to take on traditional exchanges like the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq.
As stock trading has shifted to high-speed computers and electronic exchanges, trading costs have dropped sharply. But regulators and others have worried that the increasingly fast-paced and fragmented market also poses a risk to investors. The fears intensified after the flash crash in May 2010, when the Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged roughly 700 points and quickly recovered in the same day. Some investors were caught in the downdraft, suffering unexpected losses.

I came home yesterday and found several yellow flags and yellow strips painted on my front property, locating my under ground gas lines. After make 8 telephone calls to different companies, and state agencies; finally, connected with someone who said the electric company is installing a "Power Hub".
I asked the person, what is a "Power Hub" she said a supervisor would call back to explain to me. Still waiting, and don't expect a call back. Goggled, and found it's part of the "Smart Grid System".
WTF Is the New World Order invading my home? You would think someone could explain what they are doing at the first number I called (the Gas company), and you think they would give notice they are going to paint your property and stick yellow flags in it.
I feel like pulling up the flags and cutting the grass, but would probably end up in Gitmo, under some clause in the Patriot Act.

I am aware of that. In general, if someone uninvited shows up on my property, to cause harm or destroy my property, there is a chance they will be greeted with a load of 12 Ga. #4 Buckshot in the chest.
There was a time, when I would have been notified, and I would not have to call around New York State and get a half ass answer.
The reason I mentioned this is because I was listening to that nut Alex Jones recently. He was ranting about the "Smart Grid" being a New World Order digital spying operation. 
I haven't seen any Black Helicopters, so I think I'm safe.

I don't believe in too much of that new world order stuff... cuz I don't think they are an agreed upon syndicate - more like a bunch of like minded greedy peopled positioned in powerful places with way too much easy money and so they take advantage of - stupid actors and lucky libs - who think being rich is easy - cuz people throw money at them - the mega rich feed off that naivety - and use it to lock in their position for their future generations... That I believe is the new world order - the mega rich rewarding the fools who think they have a chance at being with the "in" crowd - everyone knows - they don't and that crowd - aint as "in" as they think they are.... Power of 1 - is in everyone - and they can't stop that united cause - no matter how much $$$ or power they have...
Don't worry Rudy - I know you don't get it... and refuse to want to... maybe 1 day ;-}}}
