Question how hard is it to set up a word press site on RUDE???
Would I have to go through the whole process of getting the WP latest version and upload it then set it up as wordpress directs...
Or does RUDE have anything setup to make adding a WP site more "easy" to set up - I know Godaddy has WP as a free ap and you just pick it and it sets up a version automatically and is pretty easy... you may have to update it to the latest version but that easier than doing it from scratch...
I ask because if RUDE could set up an automatic set up for WP sites - I think it would get many more people to host a site on RUDE and we all know WP is a great system to get a site going and it can really look good - with all the free templates, and be very up to date - with all the free aps, and its pretty much free.. just takes a learning curve to make yourself unique but it is so nice a system that is worth learning and it is great for a promo site and makes great niche sites and even a great members site...
Just wondering how easy it is to set up a WP site
And what are the steps to do it?

It takes two minutes to set up a Wordpress site from scratch.
I have several wordpress sites on Rude Hosting and it works great!

Other than setting permissions and not using bad plugins (Ones that use a lot of resources t o run) this covers it all

I think i can set it up, but I was hopeful someone who has done it b4 could post the steps - step by step - and maybe in time there could be an automatic method - maybe having it pre-installed when you get the free hosting plan...
I know I can do it, but I'd like to see this made into an instructional page on RUDE - I'm thinking to many people who are new to using ftp - setting permissions - will be new to them too and even the easy things might be "too much" new stuff for them to understand... and as you point out it really is easy... but you have to try
I have this thought that a big benefit of RUDE and a valuable FREE tool like WP are being underutilized here at RUDE and if you learn WP by hosting free at RUDE - when you have the resources to host a site elsewhere - you'll know WP pretty well from your experience here at RUDE...
Maybe there are not as many people who want to host as I think there are or maybe more people host here for free already, than I know of, and this is not an issue...
I would be nice if somewhere there can be a posted listing of those who Host on RUDE...
New Contest idea!!!!
T here can be a contest for the best hosted RUDE producer site and the Best Hosted RUDE Promoter site
These contests would encourage more use of this great benefit - maybe the chance to make a few bucks will be enough to learn something new that is beneficial to you... and I believe it would benefit RUDE even more and thus all Rudies as well...
Just a few thoughts on it anyway ;-}}}

The link Crissy posted is the same thing I would post for a step by step on installing Wordpress. Their "famous five minute install" is very detailed. Then their FAQ goes even further to explain hang ups you could run into.
As to an automated thing like Fantistico, I am not sure what they have planned for the future. I am not sure that it is needed f or the web girls, BUT I could see its use for the beginner webmasters who are promoting only Rude. Then again, a fresh install on any of those scripts is very easy with the automation and would be good practice for those just starting out :)

The important thing is it is easy to set up and if anyone has questions just post or ask and someone will help you with it ;-} I hope many will use it and that I will have the time to set one up soon so I can detail the adventure - I hope many will take up the effort to host on RUDE free hosting ;-}}
