On being a First Time House Owner
I just noticed that my last post was about whether or not we would get our house. For those of you that don't know.. we did get it. It was a pain in the ass, but we got it! My live house is currently broadcasting in the basement of what I hope will be a dungeon! We have a lot to do... It needs a new Circuit Breaker and new wiring for the house... I need new windows preferably the energy saver ones, the lawn needs work and I would love to transform my basement into a dungeon/ dance area! What is the big obstacles... money.. what else..lol. I am pretty excited though!
I do find that most of my days, if not at work, are filled with doing something on the house. I like that. It is a nice change!
Out with the Old and In with the NEW...
My last day at my last temp job was on Thursday of last week. I am really going to miss the people I worked with. They really made going into work something I looked forward to! I start my new job on Friday this week! Its exciting and a little scary! It starts off part time, but I am not sure how much time I am going to have at home. Anyways, it should be an interesting experience. I am going to be a shift supervisor at a retail store! Very Cool huh! I wish I could stay here all day and perv with ya'll though. *sigh*

My House!?!

Those of you who don't know, Max and I are trying to buy our first house. Well, it is Max's second, my first and OUR first house together. I think the fucked up part about it all is the fact that It is actually $500-600 cheaper than our current apartment renting situation. Everything just seems to be building up into one big cluster fuck b/c we need this.. so we can live without fear of whether or not we can pay a bill this week or that week.
Anyways, Let me back up! About a month ago, hubby and I decided we had to move. Our rent is just too much especially if I cannot find another job. We have had our eyes open for a place for the last three years, but were never very serious about it. Until then...
The first day out with the realtor, I saw nine houses. All the houses in our range were complete crap... fixer uppers with out a doubt. Most were over 100 years old and just plain scary. It's not that I had my hopes up. I knew that 100k wasn't going to get me a fabulous house, but it is disheartening when you actually step foot in them and see for yourself what is out there in your price range.
A couple days later, Max sent me a text saying he found a house online that he knew I would fall in love with. And he didn't lie. I did. It is such a cute little house and our pre-approval of $100k ment that we could make an offer. We low balled it and was surprised to get a response back from the seller accepting our offer with two exceptions.
1. The house would be "as is."
2. They wanted a specific closing date.
It all sounded like a dream come true. Everything was falling into place... at least I thought. Ever since it has been curve ball after curve ball.
* We couldn't get the closing date he wanted, but got a couple days later which he was fine with.
* The amount for the closing costs kept going up by 1 k every time we called.
* The first loan we applied for did not get approved.
* The second loan had a closing date 2 weeks after what the seller wanted so the seller is starting to get pissed.
* Car's water pump busted so $300 later and we are back to being scared of whether or not we will have enough.
* Bank didn't send loan paperwork for second loan and when we got a call from the loan processor she not only did not know ANYTHING about what our situation was, she also informed us that they did not send the paperwork until 5 days later... so we are still not sure if we are going to get the final approval...
This buying a house thing should be illegal. This is worse torture to place on a person than water boarding. I mean I would just like to know... I mean I have already partially walked away from this house in my mind. It is the only way to cope with it all. I just want to know if we have to look else where for a new house b/c our lease is about to be up and we are about to not have a place to live. Ugg!
So now you know why I have been so stressed. Its probably why I haven't been playing as often. When shit like this happens it just fucks with your head.

Chicago Body Art Expo
So I arrived later than I had expected. The train did not leave when they had it on the schedule, but four hours later... I was in beautiful downtown Chicago. I just love the old feel of the city and even riding in a cab from the Union Station train station to the Navy Pier, you can feel it. My favorite part is going down to Lower Wacker. That place is so dirty and fantastic! Everytime I am down there I want to do a photoshoot!
I ended up buying a three day pass into the Expo. The first day, I was suppose to have a couple friends meet me there, but the economy is hitting hard.. even for amatuer porn stars. The last two days, my hubby ended up going with me. I think even though he was probably bored most of the time... he likes it.. why else would he volunteer to come with me. He even talked me into getting a new tattoo (not like that is hard). He ended up getting a dermal piercing. Those things are so fucking cool. He also got a new tattoo on his forearm.
Anyways, I met some pretty cool people at the Expo. I also entered in a lot of tattoo contests as well as a Hot Babe Contest. In the end, I didn't win any of them, but I had fun. I walked away with fourth in the Hot Babe Contest which I thought wasn't too shabby for someone who isn't 5'9 and a size 2! I think it just proves that confidence in your own image is very sexy!
I cannot wait until the next Expo. I am trying to go to Adult Con in October in LA. Still waiting to hear back from a friend of mine to get that set up though. Tattoo Expo This Weekend.. will you be there?

I am really excited for tomorrow! I will be at the Body Art Expo all weekend starting at 2pm central on Friday! I love body art and I hear there are tons of tattoo contests that people can enter. So I think I will try a few. I doubt I will win, but that is okay. My art is very special to me and I love every one!
I think if any of them have a chance it is my thigh tattoo or my solar system arm band. I got both of them originally in Hawaii when I was stationed there, but I also got additional work on my thigh a couple years later at the Body Art Expo in San Fransisco. It took four hours straight to get all the details done, but it was worth every second.
I have seven tattoos in total though. I got my first one when I was 16 and I have been addicted ever since. I just think there is no canvas as beautiful as skin. Especially a woman's smooth skin! Anyways, I love tattoos and I am super excited to be able to chat with the artists tomorrow! Maybe I'll get some pics to share with everyone here! Weekend in Chicago

Back from Chicago
We just spent the last day in Chicago. We even got a room at a hotel and got to look over downtown Chicago at night! It was fabulous. Although we did not do anything special while there... it was nice to get away and just chill! We did take some pics and I am hoping to get them on the site very soon! 2009 Star Trek film

Star Trek 2009.. a fresh face to an old franchise
I have an urge to say really bad Star Trek quotes like, "To boldly go..." or "Beam me up..." but I won't. Damn... I think I just did. On Friday, I drug my husband to see the new film. He is not a fan at all, but he knew it meant a lot to me. It is one of the few films I have gone to the theater to see in the last year. The movie itself was really good. I had several "goosebump" moments that would put any trekkie into a giggling mess! This movie is all about giving the old franchise a fresh twist to the classic, not to replace it and I feel they did that (with some exceptions). My husbands only gripe was the in-your-face filming style which I thought made the action squenses even better. I had to laugh when he said, "I didn't need to see Spock's nose hairs.. damnit!"
The characters were really well done and I have to give kudos to the actors and actresses. My main gripe with the characters was Bones. In the original series, he looks to be about the same age as Kirk. In the new movie, he looks ten years older already. It is a small gripe I am sure. Another gripe is the that there is a little gore in the film. Although I love hardcore gory films, I felt it was out of place for a Star Trek film. I know JJ Abrams just wanted to make it fresh and updated for the new generation (which I felt he accomplished), but there was one moment that I felt was just a bit too much for Star Trek. Star Trek is suppose to be funny, cheesy and awesome... no gore. There was another aspect to the movie that I thought they could have taken out with Uhura, but I do not want to give out any spoilers so I will just say that I thought it was forced.
That being said, it was filled with uber geek moments and the "cheese" factor is certainly there! They tied the plot into a nice little bow in the end and I would love to see them do another installment which they could do really easily! I will be buying it! Now, I look forward to Angels and Demons which will probably be the last movie I see in the theater this year.. I can wait until they are OnDemand for the others!

They are already working on the NEXT star trek movie.. (yay!) I loved the movie. --- Didn't Bones have more wrinkles on his face, than Jim, in the original show. I cant' rmemeber...lol Are you a wolfverine fan? |
