Well, not really.  But it got you to read this far, lol.

People are always looking for good reasons to quit smoking.  Here's one the Surgeon General never dreamed of.  Kicking the habit just might save your Wii.

OK, let's back up a little here.  About a month ago in Japan, the game "Super Smash Brothers Brawl" was released, and the game was just released in the U.S. this past week.  OK, so what's the deal here?  Well, the game has so much information it was produced on a double-layer DVD to contain it all.  Because of all the data, the laser within the Wii needs to be more accurate when reading said data.

Second hand smoke may be contaminating the laser to the point that even a small amount of residue on the laser will cause it to not read the data on the double layer DVDs.  And let's face it, if there's one game out there with this technology, others will follow.

According to a statement on Nintendo's web site, "A very small portion of Wii consoles may have trouble consistently reading data off this large capacity disc if there is some contamination on the lens of the disc drive".

There are almost 20,000,000 Wii systems world wide, with 9,000,000 in the United States alone.

if you are one of these who have suddenly discovered that your Wii is suffering from your second hand smoke, take heed.  Nintendo's site states that they will clean the console.  Shipping is free.  The site also recommends "Kids, don't try this at home."

It is indeed a dark day in the RUDE family.  Tanya is leaving.  The IM came two days ago.  The official RUDE mail was waiting for me when I got home from my "other" job.

With the membership now exceeding 1.5 million and skyrocketing towards 2 million (guys, my guess is March 3, lol), there are so many features and celebrities here that we all have our favorites.  The list continues to change daily.  Someone new always seems to come along, and that person becomes a sensation.  Each performer, each producer who joins enriches one of the most heavily visited websites in the world.   Yet for all the talent, all the variety, and the established amateur cam girls who were here, there can be absolutely no doubt as to the identity of  RUDE's first  "homegrown" superstar.

I first met Tanya back in early December, a Monday or Tuesday overnight here in the states, as I remember.  At the time I don't even think RUDE had 50,000 members, and I was holding court in the one chat room that all the cam folks shared back then.  I remember that first night well.  Tanya was taking a break from an economics exam she had in the morning.  Well, the break got to be 2 or 3 hours, and at some point she went to sleep for a few hours before the exam, but was back before long.  Even then, she had a presence about her (or it may have been that there were so few of us in those days), but we all took a quick liking to her.  We just got to talking in the room, and in her mail she credited me for her staying around.  As I remember it, there were more than a few of us keeping her company at night.  It was at that point that my overnight shifts as a chat moderator got to seeing more than the same 4-5 names every night.

It took about a week of cajoling and downright begging on the parts of some (lol), but the chat regulars finally talked Tanya into doing a group show.  It was a silent show and even RudeBrett, RudeRobb and Sammy4U turned out for the show.  We had never seen her before this, but she so captivated us in chat, we needed to see the lady behind the name.  One of my proudest RUDE moments was being the chat moderator for her very first show, and I can still remember reading Brett's comment of "Holy Shit!"  when the shy young lady bared her breasts for the very first time.

Well, she let us guide her through that first show, but it wasn't long before Tanya was expanding her horizons, doing 2-3 shows a week, playing with toys and experimenting with her sexuality.  There were others who followed, and each made her own mark, but Tanya led the way.  Even when private shows were introduced to the site, Tanya came in second in earnings for the first week, losing out to one last 20 minute show.  She was a RUDE operator for a short while and was easily the most popular of the ops.  Her voyeur house was always full.  Yes, Tanya was a true RUDE celebrity.  By this time, others had joined her on the RUDE pedestal, but she was never diminished.

And yet through it all, there was always an uncertainty about her.  When you are well known on a growingly popular site, there are always close calls, and Tanya encountered more than a few instances where real life had the potential of intruding into her RUDE life.  I don't know her reasons for leaving.  I suppose I could IM her and ask, but those who know me know I respect the privacy of others.  I rarely call on people, and whatever reasons she has, I respect them.   I will lament that I will be the answer to a soon forgotten trivia question.  I was not only Tanya's first moderator, i was also her very first RUDE buddy.  Now that, I'm afraid. will be gone.  It would be nice to be able to mod one more group show just for old times sake, but I suppose all good things must come to an end.

Tanya, I wish you the best in whatever you do in the future.  I wish you much success and happiness.  And thank you for bringing a little sunshine into so many lives.  There will be others to replace you, and some will be worthy of being as good as you.  Some may even be better.

But you will always be first.
